The Answer Before we Pray

A man is standing by a water well; he's a servant on a special mission - to find a wife for his master's son. He prays for a woman to come to the well and offer to serve him. Before he even finishes praying, a woman appears at the well with a jar on her shoulder. It was Rivkah. We know her as Rebekah. She was God's answer to the servant's prayer and she was there before he even finished praying. So when did God begin answering the servant's prayer? Long before he ever prayed it. But the servant only saw the answer after he prayed. What about all those prayers you've prayed but haven't yet seen the answer? The Lord is already working on your prayers, not only your past prayers, not only your present prayers, but the prayers you haven't even prayed yet. So give thanks, even now, for all the answers to your prayers you've never seen, for all the answers getting ready to appear at just the right time. And give thanks for the answers God is already getting ready for the prayers you haven't even prayed yet. Just remember, Rivkah is on the way!
