Becoming An Olim - An Ascender

There are two kinds of Israelis, the Olim and the Yoridim. Olim means to ascend. They're the ones who come from the nations and return home to Israel. They ascend. Yoridim means to descend or go down. They're the Israelis who have left Israel to live among the nations. There are two kinds of people in this world: those who go up and those who go down. At any moment, you're either going up or down. If you've loved God more in the past than you do now, then you're descending. God has called you to be one of the Olim, an ascender, for you are bound for the Promised Land. Therefore, seek to move closer to God at all times, to love Him, know Him and follow Him more zealously than you did last week. Paul wrote, But this one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind, I reach forward to what lies ahead. I press on to the upward call of God and Messiah. You do the same and you'll be one of God's Olim.rn
