A Detroit Christian ministry was so successful at finding jobs for unemployed workers, that Michigan officials asked it to accept state funding, but with one catch. They had to stop the Bible studies and prayers. It didn't seem like too much of a price. They kept doing the things that they thought were of substance. However, the results were disastrous. The program which had placed over 60% of its students, dropped to near 0%. Everything was negatively affected - so much so that they finally closed it down. We may likewise be tempted to think of faith as something that isn't so down to earth or practical - but it's just the opposite. The power of God through faith is the most important factor in life. Without it everything else falls apart. Don't let your time in the Word and prayer get crowded out. Because the things of God are the most important things in your life. They are the X-factor. They don't cry for attention or complain when they're forgotten. But if you take them out, everything else in life falls apart. Remember God is truly what makes all the difference.rn
