The Silence Of The Prophet

Monday, August 10, 2020

In Ezekiel 3:26, it's written: "I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you will be silent and unable to rebuke them, though they are a rebellious house." Ezekiel was God's prophet and yet he was made silent, speechless. Prophets are supposed to be God's mouthpiece. If God's mouthpiece is silent does it mean that God is not speaking? No, rather that God is speaking... through silence. God spoke through the silence of Zechariah, father of John the Baptist. Messiah spoke through silence when he said, "Neither will I tell you.." He answered the question in silence. God often speaks His most important messages not in noise and sermons, but in the silence in between. Maybe you're not hearing anything from God and you think that means God isn't speaking to you. Wrong. God speaks in silence more clearly than in words. God is not distant... He's speaking to you in silence. There's much to hear in the quiet. You want to hear from God? Learn to listen to the silence.. the prophetic quiet of God... For God will give you the most important words you need to hear.... in silence.

Today's Mission

Seek the Lord in the quiet of the day, be silent, and seek to hear what He's saying to you in the silence.
