The Bible calls David "a man after God's own heart." David committed adultery and lied about the adultery. He caused the husband of the woman with which he committed adultery to be killed. The Bible never says that David didn't make mistakes, or that he didn't fall; but yet he is a man after God's heart. How? He never stopped seeking God. Even after his fall, Psalm 51 says he was still seeking God. He seeks God in good and in bad times. So you too. You can get through everything if you keep seeking God. It's not about never messing up. There are people who have never had any great mess-ups or any great fall, yet they lose God. They become dead because they stop seeking Him. David fell, but he continued to seek God. No matter what happens, seek God when you feel righteous and when you don't. He will lead you to victory just as He led David to victory. It's not about you never messing up, because you will. But if you always seek God, you will be like David, that you lived your life after the heart of God.
From Message #694 - The David Factor: The Beloved
Seek God today with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.
