The Paradises of Hell

Hitler promised to usher in a thousand year kingdom of glory for the Aryan people and 6 million Jews died. Stalin promised a worker's paradise on earth and took the lives of 40 million. Mao, likewise, promised China a people's paradise taking 50 million lives. Why is it that instead of producing paradise, they produced hell? They each made the leader and the state their god, denying and opposing the living God. When you glorify yourself and when you deny God... the end is death. The end of pride is a fall. And the end of godlessness is death. If God is not the center of what you're doing, then what you're doing is empty and has no good end. Messiah, on the other hand, never promises His people a paradise without a cross. Messiah said, "If anyone would follow Me, let him deny himself, pick up his cross, and follow Me." It doesn't appear glorious, but do it His way and you end up with joy, fullness, and life. So turn down the way of the world. Embrace the way of the cross - and you'll end up with life and joy!
