Crucifying The Remembrance

Sunday, July 19, 2020

In the original Passover command, in Exodus 12, it reads, "Your lamb shall be an unblemished male." The word male, in Hebrew is ZACHAR. It also means "TO REMEMBER." The Passover Lamb was known as the Zachar, the Remembrance. Messiah came as the Passover Lamb. So His name is also the ZACHAR, the REMEMBRANCE. Thus when He died on the cross, the remembrance of your sins, your failures, your guilt, all perished - in the death of the Zachar. So how do we honor the death of Messiah? We celebrate by also finishing our remembrance, by letting go of our regrets, guilt, sins, and who we were. But just as importantly, we take our remembrance of the sins of others and we sacrifice the remembrance. It was only because the Zachar was sacrificed on Calvary, that the blessings of resurrection and new life could come. So the blessings of new life, new beginnings, healing, restoration and joy is waiting for you, and they will happen only when you let go of the Remembrance and offer it up. So let it go, as He has done for you, for the Zachar has been sacrificed.
