Saddam Hussein & The Mystery of Purim

In the early 1990s, Saddam Hussein, to the tumultuous applause of an Arab summit swore to destroy the nation of Israel. In the Gulf War, coalition troops decimated his forces until he was forced to surrender. The day he fell, it was PURIM. In 2003, President Bush, the son of George Bush Sr., went on television and gave an ultimatum to Saddam Hussein. He had 48 hours to surrender. President Bush gave it at night when Purim began, and it ended 48 hours later at sundown - when Purim ended. And undoubtedly the president had no idea. In every generation there have been those who have sought to destroy the nation of Israel, and the Lord wars against them. Evil will not prevail against Him, against His purposes, or against His people. It may take some time, but the end is guaranteed. Good will prevail as will all those who follow and trust in Him. So take heart; God is real, and bigger than your problem. Trust in Him; rejoice in the victory before you see it. And it will surely come in just the right time.
