In Ezekiel 3:26, it's written, I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you will be silent and unable to rebuke them, though they are a rebellious house. Ezekiel was God's prophet and yet he was made silent. Prophets are supposed to be God's mouthpiece. If God's mouthpiece is silent does it mean that God is not speaking? No. God is speaking through silence. God spoke through the silence to Zechariah, father of John the Baptist. Messiah spoke through silence when he said, Neither will I tell you...He answered with silence. God often speaks His most important messages not in noise and sermons, but in the silence in-between. Maybe you're not hearing from God and you think that means He isn't speaking to you. Wrong. God speaks in silence more clearly than in words. God is not distant. There's much to hear in the quiet. You want to hear from God? Learn to listen to the silence, the prophetic quiet of God. For God will give you the most important words you need to hear - in the silence.

Seek the Lord in the quiet of the day, be silent, and seek to hear what He's saying to you in the silence.
