The Bridegroom Of The Rabbis

The New Testament speaks of Messiah as a bridegroom. Our redemption is spoken of as a marriage. In a rabbinic commentary on the Song of Solomon, the rabbis say, the day of His espousals refers to the days of the Messiah, when the Holy One, blessed be He, will be a Bridegroom. The rabbis are saying that in the Days of Messiah, God will become our bridegroom. Messiah will be married to us. The difference is that Messiah has already come and thus the days of betrothal are now. So join every part of your life to Him: your heart, your existence, your problems, your sins, dreams and desires. Have nothing in your life that is not married to God. The calling is to join every part, not just the good or the religious, but the ungodly part as well. Marry it all to Messiah because Messiah has married it to Himself on the cross. The Days of Messiah are now. These are your own days of the espousal.
