God And The Kettle Train

Once, there was a missionary in Africa who tried to teach the natives what a locomotive train was. The missionary took two planks of wood to represent the tracks. Then he lined up carts, one in front of the other, each representing a locomotive car. At the front, he set up oxen, one with a steam kettle around its neck to represent the engine. One of the natives looked at the model and rejected the idea as ridiculous claiming that nothing of the sort existed. He was right. It's the same with our ideas of God. We use words to talk about God. We use thoughts to think about God. No matter how long you've been in the Lord, there's so much more to discover and learn. Seek Him, and never stop seeking Him, no matter how long you've known Him. Get beyond the words, beyond the talk, beyond the doctrines and beyond the thoughts. Come into the Holy of Holies, where the real God is, everything else is just wooden planks and steam kettles. rn
