Moses' Lame Excuse

God gave Moses a calling to return to Egypt, and to order Pharaoh to Let My people go. Moses replied, in effect, I'm inadequate, slow of speech. I can't speak. Yet after that, Moses would go on to write the Torah, recording his words to the Israelites. Those words fill up nearly five books of the Bible. For somebody who couldn't speak, the guy could talk! What changed Moses? God gave him a promise, I will be with you. That's all Moses needed; the same is true for you. We limit our lives by looking at ourselves instead of God. God first gave Moses the calling. God knew his weaknesses and strengths. A true calling will never match your abilities, but will exceed them, so that you can't fulfill it on your own, but only with God. Look to God, rise to the high calling He has for you. He'll do it through you because God will be with you as He was with Moses. Just remember Moses, the man slow of speech, who in the end was a man who couldn't stop talking. rn
