The Monkey Mother

In a famous experiment, physiologist, Harry Harlow, of the University of Wisconsin, created a monkey dummy consisting of a wire frame covered with foam rubber and cloth that provided milk and a heating system to raise baby monkeys. The scientists stated that the baby monkeys seemed happy with their dummy mother, who was available 24 hours a day. They then added that human babies might also do well with such a mechanical mother. But where are the follow-up studies on what became of those poor monkeys? Because it's one thing to give milk, it's another thing to be a mother. Many at the forefront of social change are pushing the lie that mothers and fathers are disposable. They believe that children will do just as well being raised by an institution than by their parents. The fact is you can't replace a mother or a father. It doesn't work with monkeys. It doesn't work with humans. What God made is good, and when it's filled with His love, there's nothing like it. Motherhood and fatherhood are irreplaceable!rn
