The Rising God: Pagan Vs Real

Critics charge that the resurrection of Jesus is just a myth based on stories of rising gods throughout the world, and that the writers of the New Testament simply placed the myth into the Gospel. There is only one problem. The writers of the New Testament were Orthodox Jews, for whom the pagan world and its mythologies were unclean and blasphemous. For them to end their account of Messiah on earth with a pagan myth is as ridiculous as the Grand Rabbi of Israel shaving his head to join a Hare Krishna sect. The fact that Jewish people could give their lives for a rising God can only be explained by one event, Messiah did, indeed, rise from the dead. What about the stories of rising gods throughout the world? Is it strange that peoples of all nations should hope for the resurrection? It would be stranger if they didn't. Even the rising gods bear witness to it. The resurrection is real. Therefore, walk in its power, triumph in its victory, in every part of your life. Anything else is just an imitation. rn
