You Died! Take It Seriously

There's a story about a man who is about to be executed by a firing squad. The executioner ties a blindfold around his eyes and offered him a last smoke. The man answers, "No thanks. I appreciate it, but I really shouldn't. You see, I'm trying to cut down." He's obviously not fathoming the seriousness of his predicament. We in the Lord do the same thing. The Bible says that if we're in Messiah then our life is over. Are you living as one who has been crucified? Or are you living as if you didn't die? The Word of God asks, If you died to sin how can you still live in it? If you're still living the old life, then you're acting no less irrationally than the man who is trying to cut down on cigarettes at his execution. You can't live in the blessings of the resurrected life if you don't take seriously the crucifixion as your own death. The sooner this fact is accepted as real, the sooner you can start getting on with your resurrected life! rn
