Your Personal Passover

Friday, April 9, 2021

The children of Israel were told to celebrate Passover every year as a reminder of how the Lord saved them out of Egypt. At the end of his life, Rabbi Shaul (Paul) called himself, Paul the aged. It's true that at one time he did oppose the Gospel, but that was ages ago. Being in the Lord for decades, Paul was known throughout the world as a saint. To him, it was as if he had always been in the Lord. He actually referred to himself not as the greatest of saints but as the greatest of sinners, remembering how God took him out of darkness and into His marvelous light. Here's the principle: if you want to get to the Promised Land, never stop thanking God for taking you out of Egypt and don't forget how God saved you. Simon Peter wrote that those who aren't godly or increasing in godliness are those who have forgotten their salvation. If Paul, at the end of his life, could still talk about his salvation as if it were yesterday, how much more should you remember to thank God for all He saved you from and for bringing you into the Promised Land. rn
