The Dye Of Messiah

One of the peculiar acts of the followers of Messiah is that of baptism. In Greek the word is baptidzo. In common Greek usage, this word was used to speak of the process of dyeing fabric. To dye a fabric you would submerge or baptize it into the dye. The cloth would soak in the dye and every fiber would be imbued with the new color. In the same way, we are told to be baptized in Messiah in the ritual of water immersion and into His death, by dying to self. So baptism has to do with both dying and dyeing. When we are immersed in Him we die, so that we can be dyed with His nature. And, you can't be dyed without being submerged. Submerge your life and you will be dyed by His power and imbued by His strength. Submerge your heart into His presence. Spend time every day in His glory. For if you will die with Him, you will be dyed with Him, or in other words, those who have died to themselves will be dyed by Him.rn
