In the Book of Philippians Paul writes, "Finally my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same thing again is no trouble for me and it is a safeguard for you. Rejoice in the Lord always; it is a safeguard." The joy of the Lord is not only your strength, it's your safeguard. It's an antibiotic, a wonder drug against all sorts of backsliding. Joyful believers are immune to backsliding. The more joy you have in the Lord, the more resistant you'll be. Those who practice the joy of the Lord are the mighty in the Lord. The joy of the Lord pulls out all the weeds of backsliding, the roots, the temptation, the unmet needs, the bitterness and the distance from God. The best defense in God is a good offense. So what do you have to lose? Rejoice in the Lord and you'll be blessed with joy. It's a win-win situation. And it's no trouble for me to write it again, Rejoice in the Lord always ... again I will say rejoice! rn
