In Genesis 49:10 the prophecy says, The scepter shall not depart from Judah until Shiloh comes. The rabbis interpret Shiloh to mean the Messiah. Later on they explain it to mean the power over life and death, particularly of capital punishment. In the Babylonian Talmud, it says, The Sanhedrin found themselves deprived over the right of life and death and they covered their heads with ashes and said, Woe to us for the scepter has departed from Judah and the Messiah has not come. When did that happen? The book in the Talmud, Sanhedrin 41A, says it happened 40 years before the destruction of the Temple. The Temple was destroyed in 70 AD, minus 40 years, equals 30 AD. So, according to the Talmud, the scepter departed in the year 30 AD. That means Messiah had to have come by the year 30 AD. What happened in the year 30 AD? Yeshua, Messiah died and rose again. He took the scepter of Judah. He came and even the Talmud bears witness!rn
