The Secret Of The Radaf People

Tuesday, December 14, 2021

Growing up, I never went hunting. There are no great Jewish hunters. You don't see many Jewish rabbis in the National Rifle Association; hunting is not a very Jewish thing. Esau hunted, but Jacob did not. Esau was a hairy guy with problems, so as a Jewish child I preferred to avoid the whole thing. But, there is a kind of hunting for all of the children of Abraham and it is very biblical. Proverbs 15:9 says, The one who pursues righteousness, the Lord loves. In Hebrew, the word for pursue is radaf. Radaf doesn't just mean pursue, it means to chase, to follow, to hunt. God loves the one who hunts righteousness. We are to be hunters of righteousness. What does that mean? It means you don't spend your life seeking money, fame, attention, and all those things that we can acquire. But instead, spend your life hunting righteousness. Stop seeking the money, comfort, attention, affection and approval. Become a seeker of righteousness. Those who hunt righteousness shall obtain righteousness and the love and favor of God.rn
