You Rebuild What You Love

Sunday, September 26, 2021

When I was about 12 years old, my friend and I built a fort in the woods. It was impressive. One day a storm came and the fort was destroyed. We never rebuilt it. Amos 9:11 says, "In that day I will raise up the fallen tabernacle of David. I will raise up its rooms. I will close up its gaps." In the New Testament, this Scripture is used to speak of the Church. So the Church is the fallen tabernacle that God raises up. When you love something and it breaks, you rebuild it. So it is with God for us. God's kingdom is made of the fallen and the broken whom God has raised up. We often write off people because they have fallen in their walks. We give up, but God does not. You must not give up either. Don't give up on that person, or even on yourself. In the Lord, it's never hopeless. We are God's tabernacle, His tent, His fallen sukkah. He doesn't give up on us. Don't you give up either. But pick up those pieces and start rebuilding. rn
