The Power Of Warm Blood

The Bible speaks of the enemy, Satan, as a serpent. Serpents or snakes are cold-blooded. They get their warmth from the outside, from the sun or some other heat source. They have no inner warmth. This reveals a secret of the nature of the enemy and of sin. Sin has no real warmth or life. It's cold. People under the influence of the enemy and sin get their warmth through outward things - through promiscuity, adultery, alcohol and other sinful temptations. The sin feels warm on the outside but, on the inside, it's cold. Don't be fooled by temptation or the joy it offers. It's out to destroy you. The best defense against the cold-blooded one is to live by the fire of God - to be fired up on the inside and by the inner and unseen things. Don't seek your joy or security in physical things. Seek it in the Spirit. Live and rejoice in the Spirit and you'll overcome the temptation of sin. Keep the fire of God burning strong on the inside and you'll defeat the power of the cold-blooded one. rn
