Destroying The Last Supper Cup

The story is told of Leonardo DaVinci who was commissioned by the Duke of Milan to paint the dramatic scene of Messiah's Last Supper. DaVinci worked slowly and meticulously. He painted the Messiah holding a cup in His right hand. He showed it to his friend and asked his opinion. It's wonderful! The cup is so real I can't take my eyes away from it! said his friend. Immediately DaVinci took a brush and wiped it across the sparkling cup. He explained, Nothing shall take away from the figure of Jesus! The cup was holy and used by the Lord at the Last Supper, but it wasn't the Lord. It's easy to get distracted from the Lord, even by the things of the Lord. But no matter how beautiful, nothing is as beautiful as He. Whatever is in your life, whether good or bad, godly or ungodly, don't let it become your focus. You should only have one focus, one first love and one redeemer. Let your heart be filled up with Him only. For even the cup of the Lord is nothing without His hands to hold it. rn
