In Hebrew the word for love is Ahavah. Love is what the Bible is all about. In Genesis 22, God says to Abraham, "Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah and offer him there as a burnt offering." The first appearance of the word love in the Bible is speaking about the love of a Father for a Son. This is the First Love in the universe that makes all other love possible. It's by this Love that we are saved, and are born again. It's this Love that must be the basis of our love - the love of a Father letting go of His son on Calvary. It's not a love that demands or requires or loves only to get. It's a love that gives up and lets go. It's perfect, unconditional, sacrificial love. True love is an offering: to give without seeking anything back. Bless someone today with total, sacrificial and giving love. This is the First Love, this is Agape, this is Ahavah, this is Calvary, this is Messiah, this is our salvation, and this is our faith. rn
