The Bible tells us not live in the flesh. It speaks of the fleshly mind as a mind centered on the flesh, what's visible and the thought life that's joined to the carnal. The word in the Bible used for flesh is sarx. It's a Greek word that is linked to the English word sarcophagus. Sarcophagus is a coffin to house the dead. Thus, to live and think in the flesh is to live in a sarcophagus. The Bible is clear. Everything set on the flesh is linked to death! The more you live in the flesh, the more trapped you become by it - just as if you were living in a sarcophagus. Who wants to live in a sarcophagus? God called you to life! In order for you to be truly alive, you have to put away the flesh and the fleshly way of thinking. Start living in the Spirit. The Spirit is the opposite of the flesh. It gives you freedom and life. Live by the Spirit and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. And you'll break out of the sarcophagus!rn
