Psalm 37:27 says, "Depart from evil and do good and dwell forever." The Hebrew word for dwell is shakan. It's a very earthly word that means to set up your tent. The Hebrew word for forever, or eternity is olam. So, the earthly word for setting up your tent is joined with the heavenly word for eternity. Thus your earthly life is to be joined to a heavenly, eternal life. Eternal life is not for later. It begins now. You are to learn what it means to dwell in heaven now. How do you enter the heavenly life now? By dying to the flesh. The Psalm says, "Depart from evil and do good, then dwell forever." There's a link: the more you depart from evil, the more you can dwell in the heavenly places. As the old life fades, the heavenly life becomes more real. Learn the secret of leaving your old life so that you can dwell in His presence and glory even now. Put away the temporary for the eternal. Put away evil, do good and you can set up your tent, even now, in eternity.rn
