Using Your Mind as Your Instrument

Some people have the idea that their thought life is out of control. Maybe you think about things you don't want to think about. And what you want to think about, you don't think about. The word of God says, Love the Lord your God with your mind. This reveals something important and life-changing: your mind is not something that controls you. Your mind is a vessel. It's something you use as an instrument. You are not subject to your thought life. Your thought life is subject to you. You have dominion and control over your thoughts. Use your mind as a vessel to hold your love of God. Use every thought, every inkling, every notion, every feeling to direct your mind to the Lord and to His goodness. It may take a while for your mind to get used to following your lead, but keep at it, and it will. Take every thought captive. For your mind is not your master - it is a vessel to be used for the glory of God. rn
