In the famous parable, the Good Samaritan finds a man lying on the street, and treats his wounds by pouring oil and wine on them. But think about it, what was he doing carrying around oil and wine? And yet without carrying the oil and wine around, he wouldn't have been able to help the man. In the same way, the Lord doesn't want us to go around with a spirit of neediness but, like the Good Samaritan we should have a spirit of giving, and of abundance. The Good Samaritan carried extra, just to bless others. Oil and wine are symbols of the Spirit. In the same way, you should go about your day ready to bless and share the Gospel. Go out filled with the Spirit so you can overflow to those in need. The Good Samaritan was ready and prepared before he ever saw the man in need. You too, should prepare yourself today to carry out a divine mission. Get the oil of the Spirit ready, the joy of the new wine, and you'll be as blessed as the Good Samaritan.rn
