Julius Streicher was the foremost anti-Semitic propagandist in the German Nazi Party. In his publication Der Stuermer, Streicher depicted the Jewish people as enemies of humanity and called for their annihilation. In 1945, Streicher was captured, brought before the Nazi war criminal court for his part in Crimes against Humanity and sentenced to death. As he was led to the gallows, his parting words were, Purim 1946! What did he mean? Streicher was referencing the Book of Esther in which another anti-Semite, Haman, plotted to annihilate the Jewish people of Persia. He too, ended up ascending to the gallows for his execution. The lesson: Those who curse the Jewish people are always, in the end, cursed. Those who bless them are, in the end, blessed. Good may be suppressed, oppressed, and trampled underfoot, but this is only momentary. In God, every dark cloud passes, and every night turns to dawn. In fact the sun was shining all along. So hold on to the truth no matter what, and press on to the good. You will prevail and shine like the sun when the dawn breaks and morning comes.
