When you think of worship, you probably picture yourself in a worship service with instruments and people singing. That's good, but there's more to it. In Hebrew the word avodah can be translated as worship or work. In other words, worship is not just what you do at worship service, it's what you do at work. When you work, you are to be worshiping. When you work at anything, from ministry, to cleaning, to taking out the garbage, it's to be worship. Whatever you do, do with your whole heart. It's not just that you are to be worshiping when you work - it's that your work itself is to be your worship. When you think of your vocation, you probably think of your career. But the word vocation means your calling. Your true vocation isn't your job or career - it's your worship. So make it your career to worship God better and better. Let worship be your work and your work be worship. It's your business and your career. For in Hebrew, it's all the same - avodah.rn
