Moriah comes from the Hebrew root word roeh, which means to see. It literally means, the revealed of God, or the revelation of God. The land of Moriah is Jerusalem. It was there that Abraham offered up Isaac, there of which Moses wrote ... It shall be seen, and there that Messiah was crucified. In fact, the cross was erected on Mount Moriah itself - the pinnacle of the land of God. Do you want to know what God is like? Then you have to go to Moriah - the land of the revelation of God. There you will see Him revealed - not as a cold, uncaring, unapproachable judge, but as a Jewish Rabbi, a humble carpenter, who loves you so much that He gave everything to save you. The greatest revelation of God we will ever look upon is that of a man bleeding to death on the cross. So the next time you're feeling distant from God, look to see Him as He really is. Love.
