The War for Your Life

Many of you know that chayim, in Hebrew, means life. But, do you know that it is not only a miracle that you have life, but that you continue to live? All around us are microbes and germs which wage war against each of our lives. So you never just exist, like some inanimate object; your life strives and fights to exist. It would be ended very quickly if God did not place within you an amazing system, which we know as the immune system. This system miraculously guards your life against the bombardment of myriads of microbes and germs. This life is very precious, but just as precious is your life in God! Whether you realize it or not, your spiritual life is also warred against, not by microbes or germs, but by sin. Your life in God is too precious to lose without a fight; so begin waging war against any impurity, lust, and selfishness in your life. And, continue to fight the good fight of faith and love as if your life depended on it - because it does!rn
