For almost 2,000 years the Jewish people were not known as fighters in the natural. When God started to bring them back to the land of Israel, they had to learn how to fight. They were now surrounded by enemies who didn't want them there. When Israel declared its nationhood, it was attacked by several armies from Middle Eastern countries. Jewish refugees from the Holocaust were suddenly serving as soldiers. If not, the nation would have been destroyed. If you are born again you are a spiritual Israelite. That means you also have to learn how to be a spiritual fighter: to fight in the spirit. Like the Israelis, you've now come into the land of promise, and the enemy is not happy about it. He will do everything he can to stop you. But here's the promise: if you fight, you'll win, just as the Israelites fought and won against overwhelming odds. The people of God are given the anointing to fight and to win their battles. You're guaranteed to win, but only if you fight. rn
