Khag Sukkot was the original name of the Hebrew Feast of Tabernacles. During the Feast, every worshiper lived in a Sukkah, or Booth, under the skies of Jerusalem. They all camped out. God wanted them to remember their days before they all settled down to live in the Promised Land - the days when they journeyed through the wilderness in temporary dwellings, and when He camped out with them. There is a profound truth here. The Promised Land speaks of Heaven. And the wilderness speaks of this present life. So you, as a child of God, must always remember that the wilderness, this life, is not the place to build your true house or in which to settle down. This life is only the place of camping out. So keep your load light so you can keep journeying forward. And one day, in the Promised Land, you'll look back at this life and say, How lovely was my dwelling places. For God was with me, in my days of camping.rn
