Those Who Didn't Bear Witness

An experiment was being conducted by scientists. They put test subjects in a room and had them witness an event. Unknown to the subjects being tested, actors were among them as fellow participants. But they purposelessly lied about what they witnessed. So when the actors were asked what they saw, they gave a false witness. The test subjects also gave the wrong testimony. They refused to witness the truth. They witnessed a lie. They went along with the majority and withheld their witness. It sounds pretty cowardly and immoral. Yet, it's no more immoral than most of us in the Lord. We also witness something: the power of God, the truth of God, and the salvation of God in our lives. But most believers refuse to witness because they're afraid of the majority, of rejection, and the waves they might cause. So, we keep quiet and they keep perishing! We are no better than the people in the experiment. We have to share the Gospel with acquaintances, with strangers, and with those of other nations. One who bears witness is the true witness of the Lord. rn
