Islamic authorities maintain that the Koran is pure divinely given Arabic. The language is Arabic but clearly not pure. The word in the Koran for the Law of Moses is Taurat - obviously from Torah, from the Bible, from Judaism. The word for Satan is Iblis. Iblis is a distortion of the word Diabolos, the Greek Word that appears in the New Testament for the devil. And the Koran's word for the message of Messiah is Injil. This, too, is a distortion of a Greek word - Eu-angel, the word which comes from the New Testament word for Gospel. The contents of the Koran not only bear witness of extensive borrowing but that in the process that which was borrowed came out wrong. And it's not just Islam. Almost every religion borrows from the Bible or from Jesus in some way. There are many imitations, but only one original. All the more, if you have Messiah and the Word of God, you've got the original and a treasure. Treasure it all the more, draw all the more close, and don't be fooled by imitations. rn
