Brother Shark

Jonah was the prophet who went against God's will and ran away. He went out to a ship, and was thrown overboard. The Lord sent a great fish. But the original Hebrew reads a little differently: The Lord ordained a great fish. It was probably a great shark, but it was undoubtedly seminary material. True, it had never been to Bible College, but still it was a minister of God. If God can ordain a shark in Jonah's life - then so too in yours. What are your sharks? They are your problems, the things in your life that look as if they would swallow you up, wound you, and destroy you. But Jonah's shark wasn't ordained to hurt him but to bring him back to God's will - the same for yours. Your problems are really just ordained fishes. If you are God's child then you have a promise: He will work all things together for your good, even to bring you back to Him, even to bring you closer. So, if you see a shark coming, don't fear. It's just a fish, fresh from seminary sent to be your minister.rn
