In 1 Corinthians 13, it is written: Love rejoices not in iniquity. We take that to mean that we are not to rejoice over iniquity, the bad, and the sinful. And that is correct. But there's more to it. It's not just that Love does not rejoice in such things - but that Love rejoices in the not. In this is a secret to overcoming sin. Rejoice in what is good - but rejoice also in what is not iniquity. Learn to rejoice in the not. When you do not fall into temptation or indulge in sin, rejoice. When you do not lose your temper, rejoice. When you do not worry, rejoice over that too. Think about all the things that you would be doing right now but are not because of Jesus coming into your life. Rejoice over that! The Israelites were brought out of Egypt, and they were to celebrate it every year, rejoicing in where they no longer were. So rejoice today, for all the things that are and for all the things that are not in your life, for God's blessing and joy is not only in that which is, but also in the not.rn

Rejoice today over the life you are no longer in, the temptation you have not given into, and the ungodly thing you've been freed from. rn
