The Checkbook Test

Do you want to know where your heart's at? I want to show you a simple test that comes from Messiah. He said, "Where your treasure is your heart will be also." The word he uses for treasure is a Greek word that means, that which you have stored up. In twenty-first century terms that would most obviously relate to your bank account and checkbook. Look at them. That is where your heart is. What are your values and priorities? Are you living your life for God and the Kingdom of Heaven or are you living for yourself? Do you spend more on your personal comfort than on the Great Commission and the Gospel? Do you spend more on your security than in bringing salvation to the lost? Do you spend more on entertainment and pleasure than on bringing food to the hungry, clothing to the naked, and shelter to the homeless? Multitudes are starving to death and perishing without the Gospel. Take a good honest look at your checkbook. Give and spend your money for things of His kingdom and His righteousness. For where your treasure is, there will be your heart. rn
