Hatikveh: The Anthem

There was a woman who was feeling real down, sorry for herself, discouraged, unappreciated, and just down in the dumps. The phone rang but it turned out to be a wrong number. She was in no mood. The person on the other end was looking for a lady named Hope, and said, "Is Hope there." My friend, in her rotten mood said, in a rotten voice, "No, there's no hope here," and hung up. Then it hit her. God had directed this person, if not an angel, to call her up and ask for Hope. You see the Hebrew word for hope is tikveh and Israel's national anthem is called - Ha Tikveh - the Hope. Because the people of God have to be a people of hope. So no matter where you are, hope has to be with you. If you're in the darkest valley, the deepest of spiritual pits, the biggest of spiritual fallings and stumbling - we're to be there with the hope God has given it to us and He told us to keep it - no matter what. And that's a wonderful thing! Because as long as you have hope, there's hope. And in God there's always hope. So no matter what, my friend - I don't care what, how, when, where, or what not - have hope and you'll get through.rn
