Acts 3:1 says that the apostles went up to the Temple to pray at the hour of prayer. Jewish people had set times for prayer: morning prayer at 9 o clock, Noon prayer, and evening prayer at 3 pm. Orthodox Jews still keep these regular times of prayer. As believers in Messiah there is something real important that we can learn from the children of Abraham and from the apostles. That is that prayer is so important, so essential, so crucial, so vital that we must stick to it no matter what. It's so easy in our daily lives to let prayer go out the window. Too many other things press on us and demand our time. And we let our time of prayer vanish. But the apostles didn't, nor do the Orthodox today. They say - this is my time of prayer and it doesn't matter what I'm doing, where I am, what is pressing at me, what is demanding my time, what is pressuring me. It doesn't matter. Prayer is so important that nothing will crowd it out. We can learn much from them. rn
