It is a Highway

"The path of the upright is a highway." The Hebrew word can be rendered highway or turnpike. Why is that? Because when you live in sin, your way is complicated. The road is crooked and filled with obstructions. And you travel burdened down, divided, with conflict, guilt, instability, and hindrance. It's not a highway. But the road of righteousness is a highway. In other words, it's not crooked, but straight. It's not burdened down but light. It's not back and forth, but consistent. When you're in the center of God's will, you're on a highway. You can floor the pedal. You don't even have to worry about being pulled over. The way of the righteous isn't just a road, it's a highway to take you straight, far, and fast. It will take you to where God wants you to go, to the goal of your calling, faster than any other way. So don't take the side road, or the crooked way. But take the road of the righteous, the straight, the direct, the fastest - the highway!rn
