Pompeii was a flourishing resort city of Southern Italy at the foot of Mt. Vesuvius. In 79 A.D. Mt. Vesuvius erupted and buried the city in ashes. Living in Pompeii was a rich woman who loved jewelry. When the deadly rain of fire began, she needed to escape to the harbor, but thought it wise to stay just long enough to collect as much jewelry and wealth as she could carry. She never made it. Many centuries later, they found her remains beneath the ashes. In trying to save her possessions, she stumbled, fell, and died there on the street. She saved her treasures but lost her life. So, this life is like the city of Pompeii. Ultimately all it possesses is sitting under the shadow of a volcano - the volcano of eternity. One day everything will pass. You can't hold on to anything because a new kingdom is coming. You have to let go of everything you're holding onto. You can't take your possessions with you. They'll make you stumble and fall, and you'll perish when eternity erupts.rn
