Proverbs 30:1-4 says, "Who has ascended and descended?" It speaks of God and the Son of God, but when it says "ascended," the word is "alah." It's the same word that is used in Genesis 22, when God tells Abraham to offer up his son as a burnt offering. The word for burnt offering is alah or olah. The burnt offering is the whole offering because it ascends, it goes up. Messiah is the One who ascends, the One who goes up. He is going up to the same mountain, Mount Moriah, that Abraham offered up Isaac. Messiah went up by dying on the cross and by giving His life. By lowering Himself, He was exalted. So if you want to go up in your life, to ascend, you need to offer your life and live sacrificially. When you start dying to the flesh, you start going up. Messiah always goes up and those who follow Him are always going up too. Give yourself completely to God, that is the alah offering. Then, everything you do will ascend as an olah to the heavenlies.rn
