Go to Israel and you might be surprised to find that everything seems smaller than you imagined. Mount Zion isn't really a mountain, it's a hill. The River Jordan in most places is more a stream than a river. And the Sea of Galilee isn't really a sea, it's a lake. All of this is on a plot of land no bigger than New Jersey. So, why call these places what they aren't? The children of Israel were given a land, not as beautiful, grand, or green as others, but it was the land God gave them. They could've complained but instead, they magnified God's gift to them. As a child of God, learn the secret of magnifying your blessings. Stop complaining about small blessings and thank God you have blessings at all. Which is greater- Mount Everest or the Mount of Olives? The Mount of Olives is much smaller but much greater in the Lord. Magnify God's blessings in your life. Make the most of them. And what might look like New Jersey to others will become for you the Promised Land!
