Say we were approaching the resurrection from a skeptical viewpoint - how could we know it was true? The Gospel accounts were written with full knowledge of the story's conclusion. There's no question that Messiah was crucified. If that were the end of the story, we wouldn't have even one Gospel account, not to mention four. If the end of the story were the bloody death of Messiah, the rest of the Gospel would never have been recorded, nor would it even be a Gospel - Good News. The only way you would have the Gospel accounts in the first place is if the ending of the story was clearly and dramatically victorious - something so triumphant, that it undid the sorrow of the crucifixion. And there's only one thing that can do that - the real, historic, flesh and blood happening of the resurrection of Messiah. Two things to apply : 1) The Resurrection and it's power are real. 2) The people of God are those who are sure of the ending, and confident of victory. You be the same, and you'll overcome the world.
