A man stormed into his friend's office because a newspaper had published a strong criticism about him. But his friend gave him this counsel: "Calm yourself, not even half the people in this city get that paper, not half of those who take it read it, not half of those who read it saw that particular article, not half of those who read the article believed it, and not half of those who believed it are of any consequence." We get upset when a person says something negative about us. The fact is only one opinion is of consequence - God's opinion. Even if someone published horrible things about you, it's of no consequence in the end. As Abraham Lincoln once said, "'If I am wrong, then ten angels swearing I was right will make no difference. But if I am right, then what is said against me now will not amount to anything." Stop worrying about what people think, and concern yourself with what God thinks.
