Perhaps the greatest of Israel's celebrations was called Sukkot or the Feast of Tabernacles. In that feast, Israel would give thanks to God for all the fruits of the harvest He gave them - for the vineyards, the oil, the wine, the figs, for everything. So, they would gather in Jerusalem with palm branches, singing Hosannas, bearing fruits from the Promised Land. There's nothing strange about that. What is strange is that for 2000 years, in exile, the Jewish people continued to celebrate the Harvest Feast, thanking God for a harvest that no longer existed. Every year, they would celebrate a harvest never reaped, and blessings never given. It seems crazy, but it's actually profound. If you want to live victoriously, you have to celebrate the blessing before you see it. Learn to celebrate the non-existent harvest. Praise God anyway, no matter what. Praise God without conditions and you'll triumph. For we have not only been blessed to receive unconditional love, but also unconditional joy.rn

Today, thank God for your nonexistent harvests. Thank him for what you've prayed for and have not yet seen, but will be given to you. rn
