Israel, Hulk Hogan, And You

Wrestling was an art form in the ancient world. But it's a sport that's gone downhill. You have Hulk Hogan against Tonto the Indian Chief, against Vik the Viking, against Glorious George and Cowboy Bill. But you rarely see any Jewish wrestlers. You never see a match between Ivan the Terrible against Sid the Carpet Retailer, or Eric the Red against Moishe the Rabbinical Terror. And yet, Israel is the only nation that received its named because of a wrestling match. The name Yisrael means, "He who struggles with God and man and prevails." The name came about because of a wrestling match - a match between Jacob and the angel - or Jacob and God. So, if you're a child of God, you're a citizen of Israel. You belong to a nation of wrestlers. So we wrestle against sin, bad attitudes, negative habits, against principalities, powers and rulers. Don't just accept your situation - fight it. Be encouraged, for just like Hulk Hogan or Glorious George, and even more so - you're a wrestler! rn
