Operation Moses And Solomon

There have long lived in Africa a people known as the Falashas who keep all sorts of biblical traditions and call themselves Beta Yisrael, the House of Israel. They appear to be descendants of Jewish people who came to Africa in ancient times and intermarried. But they were cut off from the Jewish people for two thousand years. In the 1980s they were in danger of extinction. So, in an amazing feat, Israel sent airplanes to airlift thousands of them in Operations Moses, Joshua, and Solomon, bringing them to live in Israel. Today, many thousands of Falashas are part of the nation of Israel, living in its cities and raising their children to speak Hebrew. It's a sign for all of God's children, telling us it doesn't matter how far away from God you have strayed. All you need to do is call upon the Lord and you'll be saved and that brings you back into the Kingdom of God, just like the Falashes. And so you too need never be far away from God. For the distance between you and Him is only one call away.
